Did you know that the best time to get your spine checked for subluxations is when you’re an infant? The nervous system is needed for proper growth and development of children. There are “windows of opportunity” when certain parts of the body and brain grow. If the nervous system is not working when the opportunity arises, it could be missed. So, get them check early!!
Lots of parents ask me, “Why should a child need chiropractic care?” . I just ask them, “How many times did your child fall today, just learning how to walk?” Often, it is at least 5 to 10. How many times in a week, in a month, in a year? It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that our childrens' bodies take a beating at this age not to mention any previous birth trauma. How long do we want to wait to get the problem fixed? Until they’re in their thirties or forties, when their nervous system is so deteriorated they have a hard time bending over? Let’s fix the problem before it becomes a health hazard!

What can chiropractic do for my special needs child?
Autism and Attention Deficit/ Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- In a 1989 study published in Journal of Manipulative and Physiologic Therapeutics (JMPT ) on the effectiveness of CHIROPRACTIC care and ADHD, there were behavioral improvements although not conclusive this study strongly suggested improvement with spinal manipulation
- In the November/December 2003 issue of the magazine “Autism Digest” it was stated “increasing numbers of parents are seeking chiropractic for children and especially for children with developmental issues.” In this article Dr. Fallon notes, “CHIROPRACTIC care differs from many of the other therapies”. “By directly affecting the nervous system, chiropractic care for the autistic child can begin to change the many sensory integration issues by facilitating input into the organs and areas of the body involved in sensory integration”.
